The Whitacres and Shustoke Show made a highly enjoyable visit for me on Saturday. The rain held off during the middle of the day and I was able to meet some lovely visitors, stall holders and competition entrants. Too much ambient noise to make any recordings, but I've added several names to the growing list of people who should be interviewed. The list of Moreton Morrell alumni is also starting to grow. Calling former students: the project would like to see copies of your photos!

The Young Farmers were in evidence, housed in their own very sensible "party" tent (I didn't need to take cover from the rain, but I think I could have weedled my way in, at a push). They're very well-resourced; better than in my day.

Inside the Horticultural marquee
