Health Transport Service for over 65s in Warwick District

The Health Transport Service, a volunteer transport service, began operating in September 2009 from its base at Warwickshire Rural Community Council.

The service helps people over the age of 65, living in the Warwick District area who are able to walk unaided and who need transport to health-related appointments.  This can include appointments at hospitals, GP surgeries, chiropodist and dentists.

The cost is 45p per mile and is paid directly to the driver.

Phone lines are open from Tuesday to Thursday, 10.00am to 1.00pm.  For further information or to request a driver (giving at least one week’s notice) please telephone the service on 01789 472615 during opening hours.

Please note that the service provided is limited to driving only and should a passenger need physical assistance, it is their responsibility to arrange an escort for the journey.
