Whitnash Community Forum Grant Fund

Warwickshire County Council and Warwick District Council have each committed £5,000 to the Whitnash Community Forum, so there is now £10,000 available to community projects over the coming year. The money will be allocated on a first come first served basis, until all funds have been utilised.

Potential new hirers and users of Community Buildings

The 'School of Everything' is a national online resource matching adult informal learners with tutors, groups, courses and suitable venues for these activities to take place.  It currently attracts around 100,000 visitors each month, and this number is growing .


Lottery offers wildlife grants to community groups

Communities across the West Midlands are being encouraged to discover wildlife on their doorstep as the Big Lottery Fund prepares to plough £2 million of good cause cash into improving the environment through protecting and creating wildlife habitats for everyone to enjoy.

Launching on BBC’s Springwatch show on 8 June (BBC Two at 8pm), BIG’s Community Wildlife funding programme will offer grants of between £300 and £10,000 to projects that bring communities together to improve or protect the natural environment by raising awareness of threatened wildlife or places.


Charity Commission warning on bogus calls

The Charity Commission has been made aware of a scam involving people being telephoned by individuals claiming to represent the Charity Commission. In the phone calls these individuals claim to be from the "debt collection department" of the Commission and they demand payments for various services and advertisements. 
 


Opportunity for your school to get a free garden

BT has teamed up with Rocket Gardens on their ‘Dig for the Future’ campaign. Together, we hope to get all 37,000 schools growing their own fruit, vegetables and herbs by 2012.

funding for Music Making activities - deadline 10 September

Youth Music, the UK's largest children's music charity, has announced its grant making programme is open for applications.


Trusthouse Charitable Foundation

The Foundation accepts applications from local and national charities or not-for-profit organisations which are addresing issues in needy rural areas (being towns or villages with 10,000 or fewer inhabitants), for example projects providing transport for the elderly, contact networks for young disabled people, and projects which encourage a sense of community such as community centres & village halls.


Going for green in the Cotswolds AONB - survey

With its attractive towns and villages, beautiful landscape and variety of attractions, the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) has attracted visitors from across the UK and other parts of the world for decades.  This growth in visitor numbers has resulted in tourism becoming one of the largest and most important industries in the Cotswolds, generating over £400 million pounds into the local economy each year and supporting 11,500 jobs.


Grants for activities that will impact positively on people living in coalfield areas

The Coalfields Regeneration Trust North Warwickshire, Bridging the Gap Funding Programme for requests of funding between £500 - £5,000.

Funding programme will run up to March 2011.

Who can apply
To be eligible, you must be a voluntary or community sector organisation and your project must show a clear benefit to a coalfield community.
Your organisation must hold a bank or building society account, have a constitution or set of rules, hold annual accounts and have an unrestricted income of less than £100,000 per annum.


Have your say on Local Services in Rugby

Rugby Area Team and Warwickshire Police have produced an online survey, the results of which will be used to help them identify priorities in the local area and plan how they can work together to address these issues.

The results of the survey will be presented back to a future meeting of your local Community Forum. These meetings will also be used to monitor progress against the actions agreed and identify further work needed.
