New Health Transport Service in Warwick District

The Health Transport Service, a new volunteer transport service, began operating from September 22nd from its base at Warwickshire Rural Community Council, Stareton, near Kenilworth.

The service helps people over the age of 65, living in the Warwick District area who are able to walk unaided and who need transport to health-related appointments.  This can include appointments at hospitals, GP surgeries, chiropodist and dentists.

The cost is 30p per mile (for journeys up to 50 miles) plus a standing charge of £1.

Phone lines are open from Tuesday to Thursday, 10.00am to 1.00pm.  For further information or to request a driver (giving at least one week’s notice) please telephone the service organiser Keith Hutchings on 02476 217342 during opening hours.

Please note that the service provided is limited to driving only and should a passenger need physical assistance, it is their responsibility to arrange an escort for the journey.
