Phil's Housing Blog w/c 3 August 2009

I completed the draft Housing Needs Survey Report for Southam.
The implications of allocated sites in the Local Plan and proposed allocation sites in the Core Strategy need to be considered before it can be finalised.
I advised Bidford-on-Avon Parish Council that the utility searches carried out by a Housing Association had shown that the services were too far away for a possible site in Broom to be financially viable.
I also advised the Parish Council that Stratford District Council had advised waiting for the Friday Furlong site in Bidford to be built out and for the Core Strategy to determine the status of 2 possible allocation sites before undertaking a further Housing Needs Survey in 2010.
Finally, I added that a site for affordable housing identified by a local landowner could be considered in the meantime with the Parish Council’s support.
I contacted the owner of a potential development site for affordable housing in Avon Dassett and made arrangements to assess its suitability.
The Housing Association advised me of the comments received from Planners on 2 potential development sites in Napton.
A meeting is to be arranged with Napton Parish Council.
I met the prospective developer of an affordable housing scheme in Snitterfield to discuss preparations for a Public Consultation Event.
I sent Snitterfield Parish Council drafts of a questionnaire and flyer to consider.
I met Warwickshire County Council staff to discuss the Education contribution requested on an affordable housing scheme in Harbury.
I provided Warwickshire Rural Housing Association with information on the sequential testing for the planning application for an affordable housing scheme in Stockton.
I prepared a presentation to Henley & Studley Community Forum.
I drafted a Progress Report on Housing Activity in Rural Areas and an Analysis of Progress by Parish for the Housing Advisory Panel meeting in September 2009.
